Welcome to St Peters (Thundersley) Pre School:
We are a non profit making, committee run Pre School who have been established within Thundersley village for over 50 years.
We have places for 26 children at each session who will be cared for by qualified, experienced and committed staff members.
Our aim is to provide a stimulating and caring environment where children can feel safe and secure. We offer them the opportunity to develop and learn in “fun and friendship”. By the time they reach school age we hope to have laid a firm educational foundation and to have prepared your child for their transition to full time education at a local school.
We are able to offer opportunities for play indoors in our large hall and outdoors in our secure large garden area that has an all weather surface.
We welcome all children from 2 years to 5 years old and follow “The Early Years Foundation Stage” curriculum. This curriculum is set out in a document published by Dept for Education and Skills called ”Practise Guidance for The Early Years Foundation Stage”.
Our qualified, experienced and committed staff help children by dividing the learning experience into 7 areas although we believe all areas are inter-related:
1. Personal, Social and Emotional Development
2. Communication and Language
3. Physical Development
6. Understanding of the World
7. Expressive Arts and Design
We are inspected by OFSTED to ensure we meet their standards for learning, development and care for children up to the age of 5.
Fresh drinking water is available at all times and healthy snack is offered at each session to supplement each child’s “5 a day” quota.
